See this festive homemade birthday cake?
It was going to be a four layer confection. However, when I placed the fourth layer on top, the cake looked way too cumbersome. It was much more manageable with three layers so I left it at that.
Everything was ready for a birthday bash. Balloons bobbed in the dining room. Birthday plates, napkins, and cups matched the yellow plastic knives, forks, and spoons.
The freezer held the ice cream and guests would arrive momentarily.
Sitting in the backyard for a brief respite before the bash began, my ears perked up when I heard screaming coming from inside the house.
"What happened?" I yelled, frozen in fear. Did I dare go and see?
"The cat is eating the birthday cake," came a high-pitched reply from the kitchen.
"What?" I screamed back. By the time I flew into the kitchen, Honey Cat had absconded. Sure enough, a big chunk of birthday cake had been nibbled.
"She was right on the table eating the cake," the informers reported.
Carefully removing the kitty nibbled section of the cake, I grabbed a butter knife and covered the hole with frosting as guests began to arrive, one by one.
Shortly thereafter, I lighted all the candles on the cake and carried it into the dining room for the birthday girl.
Honey Cat, by the way, didn't come to the party.

Charlie jumped up on a coffee table and slid into a piece of milk glass sitting on it and off it went and broke. He didn't 'mean' too, but it was a pretty piece of glass gone forever!
I had a puppy once that went in my dresser drawer and ate up my underpants ...to shreds...
Oh, haven't we been there one time or another? I think cats are the hardest to have indoors because nothing is off limits to them! :)
Thanks for visiting and leaving such a note on my blog tonight too.....
Just last weekend, the neighbor's little son turned 2. They invited us, but we couldn't come. We went over to give the little one a present in the afternoon, and they kindly gave us a piece of the cake. When we arrived home, we placed the cake in a kitchen table. We went outside for a moment, to gather the things we have brought. When we went in again, I noticed Lucas (one of my two dogs) savoring something (you know...his tongue all over his face, like tasting something) I had a hunch, and when I went to the kitchen, he had eaten half of the cake!!! Naughty Lucas! We gave the other piece to Mateo :o)
have a great day!

A cat wants what a cat wants. Even if it's a birthday cake.
I put some steaks in some marinade and went out side because I was having some bushes removed. As I was standing there I thought to myself...I wonder if Sammy would get into that steak I left in the kitchen. I ran in and sure enough she was just trying to get it out off the plate. I always had to hide the doughnuts or bread in the microwave because she would run off with the whole box of doughnuts!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!

Honey cat just likes a good cake.
My daughter just bought a new blanket - woven - during the middle of the night Disco scratched a huge and I mean huge hole in it.
Glad the party turned out good.
