In the flurry of activities at this time of year , it's easy to become overwhelmed, overtired, and overfed.
It is so important to remember to relax and provide peaceful moments. While Christmas music brings much joy, I also like to bask in silence now and then.
Sometimes, when tired of scratching never ending items off the "to do" list, supper needs to be made, and fatigue sets in, I head for the living room. Once seated on the couch, taking some deep breaths , I listen to the silence.
The decorated Christmas tree, in all its glory, stands nearby. Two old-fashioned dollies, flanked by brass deer candle holders on the lighted mantle, make me smile.
While sitting quietly, it's easier to think of the Baby Jesus and how He came to this crazy world for all of us.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN HOLIDAY FATIGUE HITS?

When the holiday is over and you pass out from all the work! Just kidding - I think if you rest along the way things will be okay. Sandie
I love the name of your blog! Well what do I do. Huh. I just keep on going. I do take a few days off after the New Years. Just to take down the decorations and then reflect on what the coming year will be. That is my favorite time. Everyone seems to have so much hope on what the new year will bring.
Take naps whenever I can! ☺
I'm longing to relax - I'm taking 2 graduate courses and one of them has a 200 hr. practicum! My anxiety will be over on Friday for one and next week with the other! Like you I love to sit and enjoy the silence from time to time. Also, your mantle looks beautiful! Have a great day!
Beautiful vignettes...
I power nap; a few minutes makes my worries disappear and I wake refreshed.

ahhhh...nothing better than moments of solitude, peace and quiet. Best medicine!! But my mind do tend to wander around in moments of quiet...if there's nothing of consequence to think about, no problem. If there's something "unpleasant" going on, though, I do prefer music with very little volume, but still around.
Oh well...we all have our "things" :o))
have a great day!
Ahhhh I love the peaceful sound of nothing while the boys are at school, but no sooner are they home, I love to hear the sounds of their voices telling me about their day. I love your Christmas vignette, so sparkly!
I have two solid weeks of vacation and I'm going to relish them...not going anywhere...no visitors...just ME relaxing. YAY!
