Rose-Covered "Anything" Appeals to the Heart

Roses are among the most exquisite flowers.  Pink is a color that lifts up the spirit.

Put roses and pink together and, well, the combination is a winner.

It's really true that I love rose-covered anything. An object covered with roses perks me up and makes me smile.

One afternoon I  was searching a thrift store's shelves, looking for the "pearl" among the tarnished silverware and sad-looking throwaways.  All thrift store shoppers know that some days it's possible to find almost nothing one would want and other days, well, there are gems in every direction.

About to give up, I saw the plate laying on a shelf. Picking it up, it made me sigh a little sigh relief for I had found the "pearl" for the day----a perfect  pink rose-covered plate.  A couple of apricot-colored roses had been painted among the pinkies, making a most appealing combination.

This $2.99  treasure was a true keeper. Once home, washed with dish soap and warm water, and dried,  I placed the plate in a gold-painted holder between brass candlesticks rimmed with faux pink flowers.  The completed look definitely brightened up the dining room table.

DO YOU LOOK FOR ROSE-COVERED TREASURES?

I have that very same plate. It is all bubble wrapped and packed away with the rest of my treasures in storage.
But like you I love rose covered anything as well.

It's beautiful! And yes, I do look for roses covered treasure! I have a collection of roses plates (eclectic assortment) and roses teacups and saucers. Roses are always soothing and beautiful.

Gorgeous, Susan. I rarely find anything so pretty at thrift stores. It's so pretty with the roses in your candlesticks. How clever!

Susan, I like roses but they were not something on a Favorites List. However, somehow a whole bunch of roses tea cups are in my house because I liked them individually. When I look around, it looks like I am a Rose Lover! I like your little plate and would pick it up too, for example.

That was a great find! I have a whole set of rose covered dishes and cakestand that a friend gave me for my birthday. It doesn't go with anything I own, but I do like the design so have kept it. When I was still in the States, I was totally into roses and the shabby country look. but when I came to Kuwait, I had to totally change because at that time it was hard to find anything to decorate with. I kinda had to go with the flow of what was available here. I just went rather eclectic which makes it easy to throw anything into the mix.

I am feeling better today although not 100%. If I stand too long, I start feeling woozy again. :/ Hope you are having a great day (don't think it's actually started for you yet). Best wishes, Tammy

Very pretty plate, Susan. I agree, some days there are nothing but treasures and others nothing but trash!
