Gift shops and boutiques often offer a unique shopping experience. The shop at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, fits the bill.
One section of the shop is all windows so it's filled with light. Jewelry, books, posters, toys, scarves, and cards are among the dozens of items sold. Many are made by more than 50 area artists who sell things in this shop.
This chipper puppy bounces from the ceiling during a recent visit to the shop.! Looks like all his little stuffed animal buddies are standing guard on a nearby shelf, shown in the photo above.
Local maple syrup would make a nice addition to the breakfast table.
Wouldn't you love this little pink floral lamp or this knockout purple and white glass one?
A quick walk from the gift shop into the inn can be a delightful experience. This mirror reflects some eye-catching antiques:
In the lobby of the inn, a crackling fire in the fireplace sends out woodsy smells. On the mantle, these singers still remain from the Christmas season.
One can even take a little stroll to Country Curtains, also on the premises, which is filled with high quality curtains and accessories for just about any room in the house. Check their website where you can order their free catalog!
The inn is a great place to visit any time of the year. At Christmas time, of course, it's magnificent. Soon this festive holiday wreath will be taken down and in the spring, flowers will abound.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE BOUTIQUE OR GIFT SHOP THAT YOU FREQUENT? IF YES, WHAT IS IT LIKE?
I'd love some of that maple syrup on a pancake in the morning!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Red Lion Inn is some place I have wanted to visit for a long time. I have gotten the Country Curtain catalog for years. My first coverlet for my bed was purchased there as a gift from a friend at my bridal shower. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteDearest Susan,
ReplyDeleteOh, certainly I do have several favorite boutiques and gift shops. They are all spread out over the USA as we've been traveling quite a lot as consultants. We were very lucky for spending some time in so many places and come home with treasures from all over!
Maple syrup in the grade A is one we always have on hand; it is healthy too.
Have a great week!
Mariette
Hi Susan! You always post the prettiest pictures of the most beautiful places! I have a few favorite gift shops I like to browse in (and purchase from when I can!)One is on the 2nd floor of an old historical home in St. Charles, Mo. There is a restaurant on the first floor called Miss Aimee B's. Great food, wonderful owners, and neat shops upstairs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful shop! I don't have a current favorite gift shop!
ReplyDeleteThe best gift shops I've ever been to are in Solvang,Ca and San Juan Capistrano, Ca. I also like religious gift shops the best like the one in Stockbridge, Ma. I've been to Red Lion Inn and like the food there the best..ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThat shop looks fun. Really nice and quality items. That maple syrup looked good too! And nice toys for the grandsons!
