It's time to welcome a new year of life!
By the time you read this, the new year will have already begun. The ball in Times Square in New York City will have dropped and party goers will be sleeping snugly in their own beds (hopefully. ha ha)

Yikes! Look at the calendar in the above photo. 1954? Holy "crahmoley." Some of us weren't even born then. Others will look back with fondness on that year, for a myriad of reasons.
I snapped a photo of the calendar this past November at the Santa Fe Spice Company in southern Arizona! Why they had a more than 50 year old calendar up is any one's guest. Here's what the top looked like:
As the years roll by, faster and faster, we need to make a conscientious effort to slow down, wake up, and smell the coffee. We cannot let a moment be wasted since life is way too precious.
I wish you a great new year of life, filled with many incredible moments, I truly do.
Now here's an interesting New Year's goal: I am going to try very hard, in this blog, to avoid using the words "awesome," "beautiful," "gorgeous," "joy" and "lovely," These are very easy words to over-use. I will try to use different words that describe in 2011.
Okay, 2011, I'm ready for challenges and discoveries. I hope it will be a terrific year for all of us.
As always, I want to add as much color to life as possible in 2011, like the Mexican paper flowers and dancing girl dolls shown above. Color adds zest to life, don't you think?

I am very excited to welcome 2011. Color adds zest to my life and this past year I had a deck garden for the fist time. I loved it and will once again add flowers to my deck. It made me so happy to look out and see the bright blooms! This year will also bring me much joy in the birth of my first grandchild! Happy New Year Susan!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! You were the very first Commenter of 2011! Oh, flowers do, indeed, add much color and zest to our lives. I had my huband plant daffodils and tulips in our front yard for the first time. I bought the bulbs and he planted them!
ReplyDeleteArrival of the grandchild is an exciting event, to be sure. CONGRATULATIONS, GRAMMIE! Will look forward to hearing all about that event.
Thanks for always visiting and commenting, Linda. You are a wonder. Susan
Hi Susan! Hope the first day of the new year is treating you well. Wonderful and lovely are words I use a lot. Hard not to when I come across so many wonderful bloggers with such lovely things to share. HA! :) Yep! Color and sunshine bring zest to life. Hubby and I walked at 3:30 pm today and the sun was shining bright with a slight breeze. It makes everything so much more enjoyable. Happy day to you! Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Susan! Sweet friends like you bring me zest. Finding pretty treasures to display in my house brings me zest every day when I see them. The good people that are my family bring me much zest. Working in my gardens really brings me zest. Uh-oh. I named more than one thing. Rosie
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy...Your comment made me chuckle. I don't know how long I can go without using "wonderful" and "lovely." ha ha ha True that color and sunshine bring zest to life. So glad you had the walk with your "love." Take care. Susan
