The Leaning Tower of Picnic

Almost everyone knows about the leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, right?

Do you know about the Leaning Tower of Picnic?

Regular readers of this blog will recall photos of our backyard picnic table as winter unleashed its snowy fury the past few months.

Snow accumulated on the table top took on startling proportions. The "tower" of white stuff just grew and grew and then grew some more.

A warm day this week resulted in the snowy tower sliding precariously off the table.

Going:

Almost gone, but not quite.

The smell of grilling hotdogs and hamburgers can almost be detected in the air!  Can you almost detect it even though spring is still hiding behind gigantic mounds of snow and bare trees and bushes?

Hope, above all else, springs eternal!

I can't fathom living with snow to that degree. Ugh. Not for this Texas girl. Hope spring blooms soon!

Wow, that is a LOT of snow! I think we're all ready for spring, no matter where we live. I know I'm more than ready, Kathleen.

Susan, we have completely melted off here and had a couple of glorious weather days. Today has been overcast and rain is coming. I know more cold will too. Hubby and I look out at the deck and long for tea and a read in the sunshine...trying to be patient...all good things in their own time!

Spring is weeks away and I blogged about it today. I so appreciate the first flowers, a splash of color after a bleak winter.

For me spring is all about the smell. You can really smell rain. I also love all the colorful tulips in everyone's yards.
