We are joining Dayle's Simple Pleasures of Summer weekly party from A Collection of This and That.
This week's Simple Pleasure of Summer is swimming.
It's absolutely marvelous to jump into water on a hot summer's day. Moving every inch of one's body feels fabulous. A person just knows she's doing something good for herself.
If one is lucky enough to find a pool out-of-doors, it's double pleasure since the radiant sun feels hot on one's face and entire body.
Swimming is great any month of the year----even in the heart of winter (indoors)--- but in the summer, it's extra special.
DO YOU GET TO SWIM FREQUENTLY IN THE SUMMER?
I used to live near a lake and we swam every day. Now that I am older, I don't like going in the water...strange...except up to my knees in the ocean. Anyway I remember the feelings you described and they were delightful.

Pools are summer lifesavers.
ReplyDeleteMy pool is an old girl but still beautiful. I love her!!!

A good way to cool down and relax!
ReplyDeleteblessings..Trish
Zack took full advantage of the pool at our hotel in Kathmandu. My body doesn't like sun anymore and being near water makes the reaction even worse. :/ That pool sure does look cooling! It's 126 outside right now! Hubby just came home and his hands are actually red and burned from holding the steering wheel on the way home from work. Since we came back on Saturday, I've been in pajamas and have gone absolutely nowhere. I think he is gonna make me put clothes on tonight or tomorrow so we can go out. Have a terrific Thursday! Tammy
ReplyDeleteHaven't been in the water in several years...you remind me how nice it would be..and to feel lighter, what a perk!
ReplyDeleteNot NEARLY as much as I'd like. I ♥ to swim.
ReplyDeleteThe water looks inviting .......makes me wish I had one, as I havent been swimming this year :(
ReplyDeleteI love to swim in the summer. I get to swim in a friends pool frequently and it's awesome. This Saturday we are chillin by the pool and grillin out!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I swim six days a week in the summer as the rec center pool is just up the street from me. Also my son owns a gorgeous inground pool where he lives. I have a beautiful lake a couple miles up the road and the ocean is fifteen minutes from my house....I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy mom has a pool so I can pretty much swim when I want to. The problem is arises when I don't want to. That would mostly a fat day feeling. LOL
ReplyDeleteI agree that swimming is an ultimate simple pleasure.
Very inviting
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of the sweetest pleasures of summer. I love to swim in the sea on holiday. Doesn't matter how warm the weather is over here though, the water is always freezing - I like to call it exhilarating!
ReplyDeleteAlas ... I must admit I do not know how to swim, but I enjoy a pool in summer. If we had a pool, I'm sure I'd learn to swim in no time. Great simple pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThe water is crystal clear. It even looks refreshing. If that was my pool I'd be swimming for sure.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely yes - and by the way - that pool looks so inviting. . . we are in a swim and tennis community and have a neighborhood pool - and we live ten minutes from White Water - one of the south's largest water slides by American Adventures.
ReplyDeleteAnd when I'm hot down to the core - it cools my core down.
Your blue pool is so enticing! I haven't been swimming for a very long time --- I think I should change that!
ReplyDeleteWe have an above ground pool also but I've yet to jump in this year. I think I used it once last year. Lame, I know. It sure does look good though! LOL!!!
