BLT, Please!

One advantage of the hot weather is that it cools the appetite.

Who wants to cook when the temps are soaring? Who really even feels like eating much?  High temperatures and sticky humidity take away a lot of my appetite and, to tell you the truth, that's pretty doggone miraculous.

For lunch recently, the only thing that sounded pretty good to me was a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.  Some delicious fresh lettuce, just picked from a farm, had been given to us.  Also on hand were some yummy red tomatoes.

So I got a package of bacon out of the freezer, cooked it in a frying pan, and then pressed it between paper towels.

Sliced some Italian bread, added the bacon, freshly washed lettuce, and tomato slices, along with some salt and pepper and some mayonnaise.

The appetite came back and we scarfed the BLTs for lunch, along with some pomegranate green iced tea.

Tasted darned good, too.  It was a nice, quick summertime lunch.
