Teacup Tuesday

It's been a long time since this blog has participated in Martha's Teacup Tuesday on her charming blog, Martha's Favorites.

If you love teacups and other beautiful treasures around the home, stop by Martha's blog. You'll be in for a most splendid time!

The reason this blog has been unable to participate is that I ran out of teacups to show but today I have one.

For a long, long time, my heart has yearned for a particular set of Bavarian china with tiny pink roses.

This year, while in a Goodwill thrift shop,  I spotted an entire set of it.

Honestly, it was so unbelievable to see it after so many years!

The cups are sooooo beautiful.  I love how there are roses inside each one, below the rim. Don't you think the one photographed at the top of this post is exquisite?

However,  because of the tight economy, I didn't buy them.

I told my darling daughter about them and, believe it or not, she went to the Goodwill store, bought the whole set, wrapped it up, and gave it to me for my birthday!

So the beautiful Bavarian china, covered with tiny roses, is home at last and I used it for Valentine's Day.   I get to share it with you today on Martha's Teacup Tuesday.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR OF CHINA AND WHY?

  6. I love Martha and Terri with their teacups, but I too ran out of cups and pots to share. I could NOT buy anymore! You have found a real deal...what are the chances GW would have a whole set of your favorite! Lucky you and Happy Birthday too!

  7. How sweet of your daughter and how beautiful the tea set. I love pink rose patterned china because it reminds me of the lovely visits to my Grandma's house. She used lovely pink rose patterned china for everyday. The little fruit dishes were square and the fruit spoons shell shaped. The teacups were very similar to yours.
