Peaceful, Quiet Afternoon

Communing with nature is one way to connect with the spiritual part of ourselves.

We had the opportunity to go to a mountain top lake in New York State. The summer visitors had not yet arrived.

An immense peace permeated everything. Quiet reigned.  Even the air we breathed smelled new, fresh and clean.

Surrounded by immense beauty, my heart filled with gratitude to the Creator for showering us with His gifts---trees that startled in their beauty; a lake lapping gently at the shore; and an intense blue sky with fluffy white clouds lit up from behind by the sun.

On a sweeping dry lawn, one little patch of flowers bloomed. They looked like brave little soldiers, oblivious to the fact they were the only flowers around.

It was a perfect afternoon, filled with the love of our three adult "children" and my husband of 38 years.

All the way down the mountain, I continued to thank God for the gift of a peaceful, quiet afternoon at the mountain top lake with the people I love the most in this world.

WHERE DO YOU FEEL THE MOST PEACE?

I have a very favorite spot by the ocean on a bench where the waves lap in and out and the sun is beating down and it is just a beautiful sight. I got there often when I want to reflect on things.

I always have the most peace when I am outside and enjoying God's gift to us. Peace, Quiet and Nature bring me closest to God. Hugs, Linda

Stumbled onto your blog - Your pictures are lovely and I too love God's wonderful gift of beauty - often thought how great it is that he gave a color and eyes to see it. Thanks for sharing - God Bless.

These photos do look peaceful! Our local park has many little spots where I feel peaceful, as does our property. Thankful for places that are soothing and help me unwind.

Have a good week,
Karen :)

Sounds like you had a delightful day. One of my peace spots is my own deck at dawn with a pot of tea....only wrens, robins, and bird chatter for company.
