Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rainy days make me feel kind of sad.

Their only saving grace is being able to sleep in and snuggle under the covers longer before facing the day. Then it's nice to hear rain pelting against the window glass.

It takes extra effort to remain optimistic on rainy days, don't you think?

If you are anything like me, rainy days make me want to take flight and fly away like the little fellow below

If I'm able to stay blessedly home on rainy days they are not so bad. I can get caught up on cleaning around the house or writing.  Both of those pursuits help save the rainy day.

I realize the rain is good for the flowers. Because I love flowers, I'm happy for them when it rains but sad for the rest of us.

A bright aspect of yesterday's gloom was watching one episode of the Waltons and another of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

However, any more tv than that and guilt starts to creep into my soul. I like to keep very occupied and not waste precious time, whether it's raining or not.

Well, sure hope it's not raining today where you live. Rain is forecast here so guess I'd better make my own sunshine.

Oh! One bright aspect of an otherwise dark day yesterday was seeing there are two new Followers of this blog.

New Followers always make me very happy.

I want to welcome them and  say, "Please come to visit often!"

HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY?

Rainy days make me feel yucky, my skin, my mood. I need sunshine, lollipops and rainbows...actually dark chocolate on rainy days.

Sorry you had a dark day, Susan. Hope today is brighter. A dark day here and there I can take, it is relief, but too many take me down. You know, I have a friend who likes dark cloudy days...she finds the bright sunshine days depressing. Very unusual!

We hardly have any rain especially at this time of year in Sunny So. Cal. That is why I live here...I LOVE the sunshine and great weather. If it is raining I sing alot. That always lifts my spirits.

Actually, I'm not too bothered by rainy days. Storms are not too pleasant, but I have never seemed to be too bothered by the rain. It isn't much fun to have to drive in it if conditions are very stormy. We look forward to the rain for the garden, especially during these very warm summer months.
I enjoy reading or working crossword puzzles if the rain has kept me close to home. Also, heading to the kitchen for cooking will help pass the time.

Hopefully you will find some sunshine in THIS day!

Sending hugs and smiles your way.

I feel the same way about our dusty days. The kids are hoping we will have another "dust day" from school tomorrow but don't think that will happen. The wind is blowing right now. Maybe it will blow the dust right on out of here. I sure do enjoy a good rain shower ... just not in this country, not that we ever get very many. Have a great rest of the week. I'm off to bed. I don't really like rain either even though everyone always says we need it. I suppose that's true but still...
I do like how fresh and clean it make everything though! Thanks so much for your comments:)

I like the rain sometimes - especially when it is hard and thunder storming. I know it won't last long and that it is good for the ground. Now the little drizzle that goes on from day to day for awhile - with overcast - now that is not my favorite.

We had a beautiful rainstorm tonight. I love the breeze that comes with it too.

Weird I know.

Love,
sandie

I actually enjoy rainy days, as long as they don't last a week or more. When that happens, I can get a bit gloomy. A hot cup of coffee, a good book, and a quilt on the couch tends to cheer me right up.

Yes rainy days make me feel sad too. Don't like them! I know they are necessary but...gloomy cloudy days bbring sad thoughts of love ones passed.
The way I bring on my sunshine is to remember all the good things and blessing I DO have in my life and to be more thankful and grateful.

It's been raining here for a few days. We needed the rain though because we hadn't had any in a while. It's true rainy days make me feel discouraged. I find when it is raining I lose myself in creating things and cooking.

Hope the sun comes out soon.
