Table Cloths Add a Nice Touch

Some people never use tablecloths but I love them.

How about you? Are you aligned with the bare table set or do you like to cover tables with a variety of cloths?

Around here, I'm always changing tablecloths.  Guess I really espouse the belief that variety is the spice of life.

At Easter time, the pretty cloth, shown below, covered the kitchen table:

This cheerful floral cloth, shown below, is perfect for spring.

When we lived in Arizona, we'd often scoot across the border into Mexico.

One of my favorite things to buy in a border town was tablecloths. They were so beautiful and unbelievably cheap!

Do you know, today, years and years later, I'm STILL using some of those cloths, like the one below.

This white one with pink roses has graced our table at least 1,000 times. It's gone into the washing machine just as often and guess what?

It's still beautiful. washes like a dream, never requires ironing, and well, it's a keeper.

On the dining room table, I still have a pink runner that we used at Easter.

The little bunny is inside a heart shape and it's so darned cute, I hate to take it off and pack it away.

Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's delightful blog, A Delightsome Life.

Here comes the question of the day. It's not earth-shattering but I'd still like to know your answer.

DO YOU USE TABLECLOTHS OR DO YOU PREFER A 'BARE' TABLE?

Pretty table clothes!
I love them too.
I use lots of table runners, and sometimes, table clothes. Always use cloth napkins..rarely paper.
Enjoy your weekend.

Oh no question, tablecloths,I love them. I grew up with a mum who hated ironing and housework so never used tablecloths. Just the formica table. I hated it. I loved when we visited my dads mum,Grandma. She set the most beautiful table with freshly pressed cloths. A different one for each meal. She had a pulley on the ceiling. I remember the lovely cloths airing on it.
Thank you for bringing back the lovely memories. I now try to be just like Grandma.
Your cloths are just lovely. The runner with the bunnies looks lovely with your Country Roses set.

Hi Susan,
I prefer to have a table cloth on my tables, it looks so much warmer if you have that.
Have a lovely day!

Tablecloths (and sometimes cloth placemats for everyday). My tablecloths are not so fancy or dainty, but more colorfully patterned....

That runner is SO sweet! I can understand why you are reluctant to pack it away :)

I have to be honest - it all depends on how much time and what I'm serving here - speggetti - NEVER. I love to decoarate the table. sandie

I have a tablecloth on mine only because it is cheap white drop leaf table with chairs that don't match. I am on the lookout for a real wood dining set but haven't found anything that I like just yet. I have plastic tablecloths that I bought at WalMart years ago and those come out whenever we have a big meal to set out. Jingles sits on the table in the middle of the night for some odd reason so you can imagine the amount of hair that is on there. In fact, I think this weekend it needs a good washing. :) Hope your day is a good one. Best wishes, Tammy

I do use tablecloths...even on the daily kitchen table. Lots of work making them go more than ONE meal though...always a drip or crumb somewhere!

Beautiful tablecloths. I remember going with my mom to the dimestore to purchase a decorative piece of oil cloth off the 'tablecloth' roll.
