Color for the Kitchen---a Biscotti Container

At a church yard sale this spring, a very colorful ceramic container with a cute little snug-fitting top caught my eye.

It had the word "Biscotti" on it and bright pieces of painted on fruit festooned its entire surface.

When I saw the price sticker, I squinted my eyes to make sure it was right.

One sweet dollar.

There is a tiny nick around the bottom, so big you can hardly see it.

Maybe that accounted for the bargain price.

It could not be passed-up and now sits on our kitchen counter.

Biscotti, by the way, is the Italian word for any kind of cookie.

In the USA, however, biscotti is a specific cookie that is long, crunchy and twice baked.

They are great to dunk in a cup of hot coffee or cold milk!

Biscotti have a long shelf life and, as a result, were popular take-alongs for fishermen, sailors and soldiers.

They come in all kinds of flavors including triple chocolate and we've tried several of them.

However, the original almond flavored ones are my faves.

How about you? Do you like biscotti?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLAVOR OF BISCOTTI?

It is a lovely biscotti container. I do like biscotti. My favourite is probably almond. There is a coffee shop across the street which also serves a delicious "chocolate bar".

Biscotti is yummy! Your jar is pretty; they sold them filled with biscotti at Sam's Club at Christmas for a lot more than a dollar. You got a deal.
