Gratitude List on a Hot Summer's Day

Learning to be grateful for each and every day,  and all the gifts that come my way,  (like the fresh fruit shown above), was not learned overnight.

It was something honed over many decades of life.

Practicing daily gratitude has been an excellent exercise.

A few years ago, I started a Gratitude Journal.  It replaced a decades-long habit of keeping a daily diary.

Once the pages of the first Gratitude Journal filled to the brim, I closed it and began another one.  And so it has gone on for years now.

So following are some of the things I'm grateful for on this beautiful, sunny July day.

CLOUDS AND BLUE SUMMER SKIES:

 COLORFUL FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS:

(I spotted this one in a museum in Western Massachusetts.)

BABIES:

(This is the son of one of my nephews and his wife. Isn't he a pumpkin?  On the Fourth of July, he wore a red white and blue outfit.  He's a darling baby and I love him SO MUCH.)

SUMMER SUNSETS:

CANDLES IN WINDOWS ALL YEAR LONG:

FREEDOM:

 FANS IN HOT WEATHER:

CANDLES:

I'm thankful for the abundance of summer, wonderful kids and loving husband, and delightful friends like you!

Your gratitude journal --- inspiring! I've kept one as well, but not nearly as faithfully as you. I do try to keep an attitude of gratitude on a daily basis, though.

Enjoy your day! That is one adorable baby and the fruit plate looks enticing!

I, too, am thankful for retirement and not having to do that grueling drive every day especially in the winter months with blizzards and backups on the freeway.

Glad to here it was you that deleted comments by accident, I thought you had been slammed by spam. Windows with candles, babies, blue sky's, colorful flowers...my list is similar to yours...I would add a dusty dirt road to wander down.:)

Hi Susan,
I keep candles in my front window all year long too; love them! I don't know what the neigbors think but I enjoy them!
You and I are thankful many of the same things. I love this time of year, the beach, flowers, blue skies and big white puffy clouds that float above my head like cotton candy, and so many more things. God, my family and friends, etc. Thank you for your visits. I love having you stop by.

Blessings,
Sandi

Susan,
I love candles too, and am always lighting them when I get the chance. Your Gratitude journals are a wonderful idea. I would have to say I'm grateful for my family's health - when we have that, all the other little things don't seem to be that important, do they? Thank you for your lovely comments on my childrens post. They really made my day.
