Cat "Tale"

My beloved Honey Cat is very old.

In cat years, she's more than 100, according to the vet.

She's a grandma cat but boy, she can still get her point across.

For instance, one recent night I was at the computer, as usual.

Honey Cat wanted attention and wasn't getting it.

So, what's a cat to do?

Well, jump up onto the keyboard, of course.

 Honestly, she cracked me up.

There she was, giving me the evil eye.

When I started admonishing her, she turned her head away from my gaze.

"Okay, okay, "  I finally said. "Gimme those ears and I'll give them a good scratch."

Then, Honey Cat was as happy as a clam in mud.

WHAT, IF ANYTHING,  DO YOU LOVE ABOUT CATS?

I have a laundry list of things I like about dogs but I won't bore you by naming them all. For me the one characteristic I find most appealing is how dogs love you unconditionally. Oh, one more thing, You include you ALWAYS in their fun.

I love it when they come up in your lap on a cold evening and just curl up there...how I miss that sometimes.

My cat "Babe" will be 18 years old next month. He's moving a little slow these days kinda like me.

I think you could say that I am a "cat person." Our Shadow was 20 years old in April. He is not a house cat, but has "resided" in the garage for the greatest part of his life. Cats are independent creatures, and they show their different personalities well! I remember taking a very, very young kitten when I was a teenager and nursing it with a baby bottle to keep it alive when its mother became a casualty to the dangers of outdoors.:( The kitten became the most loving cat we had ever owned. One of our daughters has a cat that will find a way to jump up onto your back - if it is turned to her, and you aren't giving her the attention she thinks she needs.:)

I enjoyed Susan Branch's post written by her kitten, Jack, a few days ago.

Honey Cat seems to know just how to capture your attention!:)

Honey Cat sure has a beautiful coat. Love her color. We had cats growing up but mostly dogs since I've been married. But I do like cats. Their so cute. I hope your having a lovely week.

Honey Cat is so sweet. When Jingles wants attention, she flops herself down in front of you or jumps right up and makes room for herself wherever you are sitting. Tonight I combed her and she was in seventh heaven. :) Happy mid-week to you! Tammy

Oh Honey Cat is a sweetie! I love most everything about cats. Charlie has been needing some extra cat scratches and chin rubs lately and isn't shy about walking on the computer or pushing my book out of the way to get them! Charlie is getting right up there in years also! He will be 14 in people yrs in Sept! Hugs, Linda

She is really beautiful!
I grew up with cats and had a few of my own but my hubby doesn't share my affection for them.
He's a dog man and says "no more cats for us".
But I still threaten to get another one again because if we had one he'd love it to death - he's more bark than bite :-)
blessings..Trish

My cat Pau was a ginger tabby. He's been gone over two years now. I admired his authenticity and engagement with life, and strove to live up to his unconditional trust. I Think of the following as a rap song.

This is your Pau - what a great cat
Enjoy your Pau and love him like that

Groove with the rhythm, bopping down the block
move his paws and tail as he go hip-hop

Purr at the neighbor, purr at the sky
Life is a blessing - why ask why

Energy moving his fur and bones -
This is his life - this is his home

Something good happen - maybe soon
Maybe next week - maybe next June

Count all your blessings - let go of strife
This is your Pau - treasure his life
