After Election Thoughts and Then, Fall Wreath

Hello Sweet Blog Peeps......

First of all, I want to say that I am proud to be an American.

For all the problems that are here, it is still a great country in which to live.

It is my most profound hope that all Americans can put aside attacks, criticisms,  disappointments and judgements,  hatred, and  negativity.

Now we need to work hard to move this country forward with our re-elected President at the helm!

It's time to pull together as a nation, working for the common good, for children, for all  women as well as men,  for the rich and the poor, and all ethnic groups.

We need to move forward for the next four years!

And on that positive note, here's today's post!

Last year when I was helping one of my sisters clean out her basement, she was in the mood to throw things away.

As I dug into boxes and bins, I'd hold up an item to see what she wanted to do with it.

"Save" or " give away" or "dump" were among her responses.

Rummaging through Thanksgiving decor, I picked up a scarecrow wreath.

"Dump," she said.

"Awwwww, nooooo,"  I cried. The little scarecrow wreath was so darned cute.

"Dump" came the final word.

"Can I have it?"  I asked.

"Be my guest," my dear sister said. She just wanted it out of her basement.

So when I was looking for Thanksgiving decor in my attic, I came across the wreath from my sister's cellar.

Scarecrow is well-traveled and looks just dandy on a door in our kitchen.

I agree with your comments about the election. Can you believe that we are still up watching the TV coverage?!? It is definitely way past our bedtime.:)

  6. That is a precious wreath! I believe I am like the rest of America in hoping for the best for everyone in our great nation. I am reminded, though, that our true hope is in God, who created each of us for His glory. He is always in control, even if we do not always think that what happens is good a the time. :-)

  11. Susan, I too am fill with pride over the electoral process. We live in a great country that protects our freedoms and I'm thankful. I believe history will show the strides we've made these last four years (and the four years to come) with President Obama as one of the most notable times we've had.
Love the wreath and joy it spreads, XOXO

Yes, you are right, Susan. Whatever the outcome for the election, we need to support and PRAY hard for our president.
