While it's probably better to refrain from going out to lunch as recreation, it is fun to try different cuisines once in awhile.
Recently, I met a dear friend for lunch at a restaurant called Jae's, a pan-Asian place that, in my humble opinion, serves really delicious food.
It's in the Western Mass town of Lenox.
Being conscious of a tight budget, I ordered a Bento box for less than $10. It's shown in this post.
It included several different tidbits such as delicious chicken on skewers, a succulent, fat scallop, bites of salad and so on.
Unfortunately, I can't describe each thing because I didn't know what some of them even were!
The Bento box came with a cup of hot and sour soup and I love that spicy concoction.
My friend ordered chicken lettuce wraps, shown below, and gave them an A+ rating.
The whole lunch, to me, was great.
We skipped dessert but had a nice cup of hot orange flavored tea.
The company was good, too.
DO YOU LIKE ASIAN STYLE FOOD?
I really enjoy Asian style food and like to try different items all the time!
ReplyDeleteGoing out for lunch is lots of fun!
hugs, Linda
Very interesting looking food! You were brave to get out in the cold for lunch. Here cold left, day was like spring but nasty will return with freezing rain tomorrow. No lunch out today but we did go see Silver Linings!
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite! Looks so good!
ReplyDeleteI love a Bento box and a lunch with a good friend; what a special day. Wouldn't it be great to have a virtual lunch with all our blog friends...we can dream, XOXO
ReplyDeleteAsian food? Um.....no. But! I will give you any I come across.
ReplyDeleteAww..Japanese food! Yumm! It's not available here, so I miss it a LOT!
ReplyDeletegreat choice for a meal:)
I like the idea of the Bento. Saw a show on the Travel Channel that showed how Japanese moms fixed those types of lunches for their kids or husband when they sent them off for the day. Amazing ! My son would be happy if I could learn to fix a few easy things to spice up their lunch. We eat sushi at least several times a month. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love Japanese food. I like Sushi and Udon.
ReplyDeleteI love eating new types of food except for those weird ones like chocolate covered ants.
ReplyDeleteLove all Asian style food...as a matter of fact just went to PF CHANGS for my birthday lunch and it was very yummy. As for Japanese food i love tempura best...no sushi for me. ha! I'm sure you enjoyed your fun lunch.
ReplyDeleteI do! I do!
ReplyDeleteI love you - but that box did not look good to me - sorry. But thumbs up to the asian chicken and lettuce wraps.
ReplyDeleteI do like Asian food, but not on a regular basis. We have found that it varies widely from place to place around here, so it's an adventure each time we try it! This all looks and sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteI don't have Asian-type food very often. In fact, I don't very often have a chance to eat lunch out. We are big on cooking and staying home.:-) I usually order a green salad when I am out for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI DO!!!! My Frank has allergies so I do not get to eat it often but when I do I practically lick the plate :)
ReplyDeleteThai food is my most favorite! We have a great one right in my little town and gotten to know the young owners quite well. You lunch looks yummy.
