Baby Shower Tables

Baby showers are among life's joyous events.

Who would not feel happy supporting a new, young mom about to give life to a sweet little baby?

At a baby shower last weekend at my cousin's house, everyone had a fun time.

The baby expected in March is a darling little girl.

The lace covered tables had name cards for each guest, fruit cups, individual nut filled cups, votive candles, and paper and pencil for a baby bingo game!

The markers for the bingo game were candies found in glass jars on each table.

The lunch served included lasagna, salad, breadsticks and bread slices.

My cousin, the hostess with the "mostess", also made a beautiful cake, (shown at the top of this post), for dessert.

She named  it "Snowstorm Cake" as there was lots of white coconut on the top and sides.

See the sweet chocolate bunnies that were dancing all around the cake?

Some were  plain and some  were covered with sprinkles.

We'll have more on the special visit to my cousin's in other posts.

WHAT KIND OF GAMES HAVE YOU PLAYED AT BABY SHOWERS?

What a lovely, festive occasion! One game that stands out in my mind involves a piece of string, cut from a large ball, which each guest cuts in the length that is supposed to be the girth of the mother's belly! It's always entertaining to see how short or long some of those strings are! Of course, it's all in good fun, and the mother gets the prize, anyway! Those chocolate bunnies look like they're just waiting for someone to gobble them up! :-)

Looks like it was a lovely baby shower! The cake looks sweet with the bunnies. We usually play the diaper pin game - with a certain word if said would cause one to relinquish their diaper pin, we'd play guess the size of the Mommy's tummy...stuff like that - I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy

I've been to so many baby showers...this year especially we have several teachers leaving on maternity leave. We play various games and have lovely snacks and drinks after school in the library. It's always a fun time. Love the pics you posted of the baby shower you went to.

baby showers are always a joyful time to get together....This was a lovely shower with so many pretty details. We played a game once where you have to close your eyes and draw what you thought the baby would look like. Luckily the baby did not look like any of the drawings. LOL

Well, my memory is failing me at the moment. It seems that the last baby shower I attended was one that had no games played. All those attending just had a great time visiting with one another!

The cake looks absolutely delicious!

I'm trying to remember if I have ever attended a baby shower. Never one where games were involved.
Oh wait, I did attend my own! Still no games.
I would've eaten the candy bingo markers.

Another baby - gee you go to a lot of showers girl. And a girl - I want a granddaughter. Oh well.

And we put a plate on our head and then we were supposed to draw our self.

Or take a string/ribbon and cut it to the size of the pregnant mom's tummy - the closest one wins.

Love, sandie
