Stargazer Lilies

Admittedly, I am hopelessly in love.

When I gaze upon this charmer, my heart just about jumps out of my chest.

I cannot get enough of stargazer lilies!

Their fragrance, too, enchants.

When I found some stargazer bulbs at Big Lots, I bought three packages and gave them to my hubs as an Easter gift.

It was a kind of selfish thing to do, right?  I mean, after all, stargazers are my faves.

But I figured once they come up after planting, he could enjoy them, too! (hee hee)

Whenever  stargazer lilies  appear at the super, I buy them.

Nothing like buying a gift to yourself from yourself! It's good for self-esteem.

They always bring me so much sweet-smelling happiness so I consider them quite a bargain.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU TREATED YOURSELF TO FLOWERS?

  2. Your Stargazing/tiger Lilies are lovely!
I dated a guy for several years and he would give me Tiger lilies when they were in season. When they died - I planted them outside and now they come back at the beginning of summer! Can't remember his name, but do think of him when I see them blooming!

  4. I too love Oriental and Asiatic lilies and grow Star Gazers in a container. If you look at my photo here you can see I am standing with a Tom Pouce lily, another tall and fragrant lily.

  9. Lovely lilies...remind me a of story I used to tell a long time ago that compared the spots on the lily to a little girl's freckles.

  10. Those stamens usually leave quite a stain if you get too close. I bought flowers for a friend last month for her birthday and pulled out the lily for me as it hadn't opened yet. Amazing how they unfurl as they bloom. Best wishes to you, Tammy

  13. Your lilies are beautiful, but they Salmon Stars; true Star Gazers have a "hot pink" shading in the center. I've read that Star Gazer has become synonymous with the entire division of Oriental lilies, no matter what the color, so technically these were not mis-marked. That aside, what a lovely bouquet to have and certainly brought a bit of Spring inside during the chilly weather, XOXO

  16. The stargazers are beautiful....a gift of love that can be shared....is the best of gifts. I do not think I have bought myself any flowers....but I plan to on mothers day. My Frank always buys me a plant to hang on my patio and they are to big so I asked if this year I could pick out the size and let him pick the plant :)
