Mother Nature's Blooming Gifts
This is beautiful time of year.
I love June. Everything is so alive and coming into bloom.
This year, I was going to put red geraniums in two big pots at the tops of our stairs but when I saw the fire-engine red begonias, I bought them instead.
I poured a hot pepper flake solution on them so the squirrels wouldn't eat them for lunch.
So far so good.
The plant shown at the very top of this post and below bloomed in our small round flower garden in the front yard and was quite pretty.
I think they are alliums but please correct me if I'm wrong.
The uncontrollable hostas, of course, are letting guests through to the front sidewalk but might eventually block them.
There's big white bush in the front yard, name unknown, that's in full bloom.
Of course, the rhododendrons make me sigh with delight every time I walk out the front door.
It goes without saying that I am deeply grateful for all of these blooming beauties.
Being surrounded by so much loveliness makes me very happy to be alive.
Do you feel that way, too?
Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's blog, A Delightsome Life. Thanks for hosting, Kathy.
WHAT IS BLOOMING WHERE YOU LIVE?
Your flowers are gorgeous! I renew my love affair with flowers every June! I don't think I can get along without red geraniums and bright orange tuberous begonias. But then there are the daisies, lavender, and fuschia...
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty, Susan.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are delightful...for you and others Thanks so much for the supportive comments on my whining blog! I see Anonymous has found you too...doesn't he make you want to scream?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blossom Susan, I agree June is a beautiful month
ReplyDeleteAll the June flowers are wonderful. The trees and shrubs are so lush this year, due to all the rain, that the colors seem to "pop" more than ever against the green.
ReplyDeleteYour Alliums and Rhododendrons are lovely. I picked a bouquet of yellow buttercups and added some perky daisies and yellow Lillies; instant sunshine!
Susan, your garden is amazing. It must smell heavenly, too. It is easy to see why you bought the bright red begonias, they are so striking, and will be so pretty on your stairs, a real show stopper.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to live in an area where we get to enjoy the beauty of each season. Sometimes I wonder if spring would be as glorious, if we didn't go through the dreariness and cold of winter. I think it makes us appreciate the warmth an the brilliance of Spring and Summer even more.
Have a lovely weekend, Connie :)
I have gorgeous jasmine in bloom that smells divine, my roses are blooming, my hydrangias are in full bloom and are so colorful and I have several other plants that do not know their names but are also in bloom. The thing about So Cal is they stay that way just about all year round. That's why I love living here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Allium! I have never planted them and I should. I have Sib Iris blooming, roses, Mountain Bluet, Oriental poppies, and Lily of the Valley. Love this month. Also did up all my pots and I am ready for summer. Have a great weekend! Kit
ReplyDeleteIts a feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteEach flower is different especially the rhododendrons.
Your blooms are delightful and just brightened my day-just look at that begonia, and oh my the rhododendrons! Just beautiful-Susan!
