Polish Pottery at Berkshire Mountain Country Store



Regular readers of this blog know I love country stores and boutiques filled with a variety of colorful and fascinating items. 



 One of my favorites, Berkshire Mountain Country Store, has just changed locations from one small town to another, both in western Massachusetts.

Now I'm probably going to do a couple of posts to show you some of the lovely things I saw inside the new location.



 However, for today, I just wanted to give you a peek at the Polish pottery.

My maternal grandparents were both from Poland so anything Polish goes straight to my heart.

The pottery shown today tended to be too pricey for my budget but I sure loved looking at it.


It comes in mostly blues with a light beige background. There are little pops of other colors here and there.

The patterns vary but are all eye-catching. I liked the florals the best.


Berkshire Mountain Country Store, by the way, is now located in a quaint old house, dating to the 1850s, on Main Street in a little town called Lee.

    I don't know whether I've seen Polish pottery or not, but the pieces you have pictured are certainly lovely! One pattern reminds me of a Lenox pattern that my niece chose when planning her marriage, called "Poppies on Blue," and it always looked so cheery. I'm sure you were tempted to stretch your budget, so I congratulate you for your determination! That store must be a treasure trove of tempting objects!

    I was in a Polish pottery store last weekend and was amazed at the beautiful and intricate paintings. They are stunning.

    I have seen this pottery...King Arthur Flour Catalogue use to carry it and I would just drool over the patterns; each different. How lucky you are to have this shop close by. XOXO

    Oh I love the color blue on anything and these pieces that you featured are beautiful. I have never seen Polish pottery before...I would love to have some.

    My husbands side is 100% Polish. I don't remember seeing any of that. It is pretty - yet hardy looking - colorful, but not gaudy. Wonderful really.

    Yes, I have seen Polish pottery; my mother had a sugar and creamer and one cup in a pretty blue floral pattern; similar to some in your post. I will have to take a drive to the store your mentioned. Looks like a wonderful place. You find such fun places to visit.

    Hello from Spain: Polish pottery is beautiful. My dinnerware ceramic kitchen is Spanish. Also in my country all pottery is very expensive. I keep as my wedding gift. Keep in touch

    I've only seen Polish potter in red and black with cream/white. I love the blue pottery better. Simply stunning.

    I love this Polish pottery, Susan. I am part Polish on my Father's side. I have a tea cup made in Poland with a blue pretty design on it. It is one of my favorite cups. Thank you for sharing some of the Polish pottery. It's just beautiful.
