Recollections of Father's Day

Father's Day, 2013, is now over but it will remain in memory as a lovely, festive day.

First of all, I served a really delicious breakfast for my hubs, our son-in-law, daughter and precious little special guest!

Had  balloons  for each the poppies and little gifts on the decorated table.

Hubs and I went for a ride in the countryside in the afternoon.

Then, we went out for dinner, remembering times when our kids were little.

Made us happy and a little bit sad, too.

After all, "those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end..."

We went to a place called Mazzeo's Ristorante, in Western Massachusetts.

It's Italian to the hilt, of course.

Will tell you about our dinner in tomorrow's post, so come on back!

WHAT WAS ONE FUN THING YOU DID TO CELEBRATE FATHER'S DAY?

  4. Can't wait to hear about that Italian dinner!

Our Father's Day was special since one of our daughters and her family came in the afternoon for just overnight. Another one came on Monday for just a few hours, along with her husband and stepson.

  5. I like your bright, cheerful "tablescape"! Our day wasn't NEARLY as exciting. Church of course, where hubby is pastor...then he wanted Chinese so the two of us enjoyed a Chinese buffet. We came home to relax & watch the U.S. Open golf tournament. Throughout the afternoon he enjoyed the telephone calls from our three children...

OK. Looking forward to hearing about your meal :)

  6. Our son and his wife and precious little grandaughter came for an overnight visit which we so enjoyed. Our other son was sick and just couldn't make the 3 hour drive, so he will visit this weekend. The weather in the evening was beautiful and so we ate dinner out on the picnic table joined by some other family members; the warm and sweet June air was so delightful.

Also, brought small daisy bouquets to place on the graves of our own fathers; a rememberance and a prayer. It was a meaningful and enjoyable day for all.
