Our resident kitty, Honey Cat, sometimes seems as old as Methuselah who lived more than 900 years!
Well, she's not quite up to 900 years but, according to the vet, in human terms, she's a little over 100 years old!
Honey came to live with us as a tiny fur ball of a kitten in Arizona when our kids were little and they are now both adults in their 30s!
These days sweet Honey looks a little like a skeleton with fur.
She has thyroid disease and kidney problems, the poor little dear.
However, she still has a good appetite.
In the supermarket the other day, I saw a container of "Healthy Greens" for cats!
While it took a few moments to decide whether to spend the $3.00 and change from my grocery money but finally decided to do it.
Cats need green salads, too!
(I'm glad she didn't meow for me to pass my favorite blue cheese dressing!)
She loved the oat grass and chomped away at it.
If you have pets, you know how much love we pour into them.
Honey Cat is worth every dime we spend on her.
To me, she's just pure love.
We don't know how much longer she'll be with us but while she's here, she's the Queen of the roost!
DO YOU GIVE YOUR PETS TREATS?

Awww she is a honey! Yes we give Alley tuna and I always drop pieces of cold cuts on the floor while packing Mr OP's lunch:)
Enjoy your little love bug!
I don't have pets anymore. I take joy in my grandchildren now. I'm sure honeycat loved her new treat!
Susan,
We don't have any pets anymore either-but I would like a puppy:)
I must say your ancient kitty is so fortunate to have you!

Your Honeycat is living off love. I'm sure she loved her treat.
Honey Cat sure is a special cat and very lucky to have such a loving home in which to spend her old age.
We have a 5 month old chocolate lab named "Lexi" who has stolen our hearts in such a short time. Pets really do add so much to our daily lives, don't they? Definitely a case of getting more that you give.
Lexi loves any kind of treat, but especially little pieces of cheese. I think she must be a mouse in disguise!
Honey cat is a sweetie. My Charlie loves greens and I should buy hims some grass like that! He would love it. Of course I treat him! He is my baby!
hugs,
Linda
Are you kidding? Is the Pope Catholic???
YES! Now I know what oat grass is.
I never thought about it for dogs.
I have to say she does look thinner then last time you had her on the blog Susan. But she is still beautiful.

Oh, yes! We gave our Shadow treats. We had him for 21 years and two months! Honey Cat is really special. She deserves all the love you give her!
What a fun post. Your kitty looks like a good one.
