Cranberry Swan

You know, life is filled with unexpected surprises, some that really warm the heart in an extra special way.

Last weekend, my  friend, Sharon, and I went to a yard sale.

There was a very exquisite cranberry glass swan among the many treasures.

Since cranberry glass is one of my favorite collections, that swan made me swoon.

However, the price was a bit high for my budget and, admittedly, I really don't "need" another piece for the collection (even though more may be wanted! ha)

Last night, after a book club meeting, my friend handed me a bag and said inside was something I'd enjoy.

Then she said goodnight and ran to her car.

Once inside my own car, I read a really beautiful note that she wrote.

Then, inside the brown paper bag, there was a box wrapped in pink paper with white polka dots, topped with a lovely pink bow.

Of course, pink is my favorite color!

Inside  the box was, you guessed it, the delicate and truly breathtaking pink cranberry glass swan!

A friend who does something like that makes life truly extra special.

I mean, it wasn't even my birthday or any other occasion!

Of course,  I cherish the swan, too.

WHAT WAS THE LAST "AH-HA" MOMENT YOU EXPERIENCED?

What a great friend! It's a beautiful piece and I can't think of anyone who would enjoy it more then you! When I arrived home from TX, my daughter Sara had bought me some groceries and left me a card telling me what a great Mom I am. It just warmed my heart!

Hi Susan,
Your swan is so pretty! Remember I told you I had seen some miniature clay flower pots? Well, I figured out where they were. They have them at Michael's in the clay pot section.
Have a great weekend,
Gina

I have seen such glass pieces but never this color. It IS beautiful and of course your sweet friend knew you had to have it. Good friends know these things. What a blessing she is, and I suspect you are to her.
