How Much Wood Could a Woodchuck Chuck If a Woodchuck Could Chuck Wood?
(The woodchuck shown above I saw in a yard other than my own but it could be a cousin of the woodchucks driving us crazy right now.)
Hello Dear Blog Peeps....
I know nothing about woodchucks (also known as groundhogs) except that they are:
1) A real pain to have around
2) They are impossible to get rid of
Okay, dear blog peeps. I need your input.
We have been bombarded with woodchucks the past couple of years.
We've tried everything to get rid of these wild creatures.
Why?
Because they think think that everything planted is a smorgasbord just for them!
I even "planted" swirling pinwheels that go crazy with the slightest breeze.
Somewhere, I read they would scare the woodchucks away.
They didn't and the woodchucks strut right by those pinwheels even when they are going full speed ahead!
We thought we had eradicated them with other means and then, the other morning, I looked out, and the fattest woodchuck I've ever seen was prancing around the backyard lawn.
Now this "kid" looked like a mini bear-----all fat and rolly poly.
As soon as I came out onto the back porch, the creature disappeared.
WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH WOODCHUCKS, IF ANY, AND HOW, IN THE NAME OF HEAVEN, DO YOU MAKE THEM MOVE SOMEPLACE OTHER THAN YOUR BACK YARD?

Oh, dear! We've no experience with these creatures here. They are definitely a real nuisance! I hope you will be able to find a solution to the problem!
I have no idea about woodchucks! This guy is a bit scary to look at though!!!
I wish I could help you, but I don't know about woodchucks! Maybe that fat one is going to be a mamma and have more little ones!
I do not have woodchucks where I live...just gophers now and then and rabbits. I would try putting mothballs out in your yard.
I have not seen woodchucks before and have no idea about them!
Hello from Spain: in my country there are no woodchucks. I know they are a nuisance animals. I hope that you know to solve the problem. Keep in touch
We do call them groundhogs here and they are a nuisance in your yard. I have no idea how to lure the little creatures back to the country where they belong. xo Laura
I'm sorry, I have no good ideas, but I wouldn't want them in my yard either! Little rascals!!
We don't have them here but can you borrow a big dog for a few weeks to chase them away.
Merle.........
Woodchucks, oh my! Hard to get rid of. I heard that if you know where their den is, put a bleach soaked cloth in the entrance and it may drive them away.
Good luck.
Oh Susan,
I don't know a thing about woodchucks. I'm so sorry this little critter is bothering you at your home. I think I would be surprised if I saw him near my home too.
Good luck, and let us know what happens.
love,
~Sheri
