Books, Candles and More

Books, quaint shops, thrift store shopping, and flowering plants are all the stuff that dreams are made of.

All of them can be found in Manchester, Vermont, a cute town that makes a fun day trip.

One of the coolest book stores around is Northshire Bookstore in Manchester.

They have a lot of author visits there plus nooks and crannies filled to the rafters with hundreds of  books.

There's even a used  section which always makes my heart sing.

Northshire sells a lot of what-nots, too, like pear and other-shaped candles in lots of colors; purses; funky clothing and greeting cards.

It's a great place to browse, read, relax and have fun.

Manchester is a neat Vermont town and if you visit there in summer, the flower displays will make you smile.

We even found a thrift store, the proceeds of which go to help others. Who can beat that?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO FIND WHILE VISITING A NEW TOWN?

I could spend a long time browsing here. I love books, candles and the flower displays are so cheerful.
These days, we most enjoy thrift store shopping. We don't need anything, but the thrill of the hunt is enjoyable!

Altho I have been to Manchester, Vt. I never have visited the Northshire Bookstore. I have seen ads for many author book signings and a lot of different talks, etc., but just didn't want to make the long drive in the evening when most of them seem to take place.

When I do go to a new town, I love to try to visit the library. Sometimes the architecture of the buildings is fabulous and the atmosphere inside is always interesting and relaxing. They usually have community events listed and you can find some fun things to do if you are staying for a few days. Bonus: it's all free!

If I am visiting a new town I enjoy finding antique stores or old book shop's. The candles you shared are just lovely and I can almost smell their sweet fragrance :)

Happy Monday to you, Susan!

I love to visit historical places when I go somewhere. I enjoy seeing the architecture and going back in time. I also love to read historical novels. This town sounds interesting. I think I've been there but a long time ago.
