Sunday's Post: Thank You God, for Everything!

Some things we recited in childhood stick with us forever.

One rhymed blessing I remember clearly follows.  Its meaning has never faded.

It's as true today as it was all those years ago.

I don't know who wrote it so cannot give credit but thanks, dear unknown person, for writing it!

Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the food we eat.
Thank you for the birds that sing.
                                       Thank you God, for everything!

p.s. Thanks, too, for YOU, dear reader.

WHAT IS A POEM YOU REMEMBER FROM YOUR OWN CHILDHOOD?  CAN YOU SHARE IT?

  1. That was one that I was taught.
It is stuck still in my memory being a child to say that. Then as my children were small. I taught them.

Now I thank him for this food. Amen.

Said that one when I was almost a baby.

Then I am sure everyone was taught.
Now I lay me down to sleep .Then it goes on and on.

  7. I teach this very prayer to my preschoolers in spring. My children prayed at meals, God is great, God is good. Let us think Him for our food.

  9. The little prayer I learned in college was not popular when I brought it home for mean time, Susan! Yet somehow it keeps rumbling through my head...think I will let it stay there. Sunday here is beautiful...hope you are having the same.
