November Begins and October Is (Almost) History

November 1st and all is well...

Before we draw the curtain completely on October of 2014, I wanted to share some photos of Halloween night.

We love to set a special scene for the kids who come trick or treating.

Scary Halloween sound effects could be heard coming from the side porch.
It was from a cd found at a yard sale during the year!

A battery lighted pumpkin held the Halloween candies for the little goblins.

The light inside this fellow blinked on and off and it took me about 15 tries to finally get a photo with it lighted! ha!

More lighted pumpkins and the scarecrow kids welcomed everyone out on the porch.

Some people I didn't even know took photos out there!

There was a scary looking skull with lighted eyes and a flickering candelabra in the living room window. (Yep, that's him at the top of this post.)

When the doorbell rang, I stood  behind the front door and opened it very, very slowly so the kids could see lighted candles lining the stairs.

Then I wished them a Happy Halloween and gave out the candies.

It was all in fun and when the little ones saw the "nice witch" smiling, they went away happy.

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS MONTH?

  1. Sounds like you had fun! I'll bet you have a bunch of Trick or Treaters!

What do I want to accomplish this month? Health. I have a few "issues" that I'm concerned about. Have been putting off a couple.....and by the end of November, my new knee should be well on its way to"normal".

  2. Next year I'm coming to your house for trick or treat!

Would like to get the attic cleaned out. Ugh! Also, would like to slow down and enjoy the "gifts" that November brings.

Enjoy the quiet "lull" that is November.

  3. I would love to accomplish some "normalacy" but doubt it happens. Already this morning I must face putting away seasonal things and then we begin to store glassware etc for upcoming sheetrock work. Nothing calm and normal about that.

  9. Susan,
Your Halloween décor is wonderful! It sounds like you had a good time last night. We just moved into a new neighborhood, and there are only a few houses built so far, so we only got one trick-or-treater. Next year, we'll get more.

What a cute picture of you dressed up.

    Happy November!

    love,
    ~Sheri
