Remembering Autumn

Everyone knows that autumn is a bittersweet month.

The trees are so gorgeous in their orange, scarlet and yellow finery.

Friendly scarecrow kids make us smile!

Flowers, too, burst with brilliant colors, as if celebrating the last hurrah of the season.

Taking a look around our yard recently, I snapped a few shots to remember how pretty everything looks at this time.

For soon winter's  icy blast will hold  us in her grip but  it's not here yet!

Today, we can savor every sweet and sumptuous second and enjoy the pulsing beauty of everything around us!

WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT AUTUMN?

  1. Hello from Spain: I prefer summer to autumn. In autumn, the days are very dark. In the morning and evening it is cold. I'm looking forward to spring !!. Keep in touch

  2. I so agree about autumn. I'm trying to hold on to it because winter is SO long in NW Wisconsin. What I love most are the chilly air and warm sun. And, of course, the beautiful colorful fall leaves. :-)

  3. Love all your fall decor outside and inside...enjoy these last days of Indian summer and fall with all the glorious colors in nature as winter is just around the corner.

  4. It's always autumn in my heart. I could never say goodbye to the noblest of all seasons, willing to lay down its life for new birth to spring forth. ;) We've only just begun to savor its magic.
Thank you for visiting, Susan. You asked about tea dye...it's the title of one of the distressing inks I use on my tags, the pink is spun sugar, both from Ranger Inks.
    Have a lovely day!

  5. I will miss everything, Susan.....the oranges, reds, and golden colors, the pretty change of leaves, pumpkin and apple goodies, all that this glorious season has to offer. It has just begun for us here, and I am savoring every minute, as it is my favorite season of all!

  8. Autumn is such a magical season in New England. I will miss the colorful foliage and the crickets still singing in the fields. The sun is still quite warm and the sunsets of late have been enchanting. On a calm day the colorful mountains reflected in the lake are a sight to behold. I will miss everything about Autumn, but am ready for the quiet and contemplative qualities that winter surely brings. Each season is charming in its own way.
