Every time a new year rolls around, all kinds of thoughts swirl around in my head.
Does that happen to you?
The optimist in me wants to believe that lots of good things are ahead.
(Bye bye until next December, Santa!)
The pessimist says, "Watch out. This is going to be a year to rock you to your socks."
If I remember to turn everything over to God, I don't have to worry about what may or could happen in 2015.
A friend used to remind me of the following:
He (meaning God) is in charge.
He is in control.
He calls the shots.
He is the boss.
When I repeat the above to myself, the year ahead looks A-Ok, indeed, no matter what is ahead.
DO YOU WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE?
2 Tim. 1:7
ReplyDeleteGod did not give us a Spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.
Sitting here worrying myself...but this is the truth. He diesn't lead with fear, prompt with fear, teach with fear, or any other thing with fear. Fear is a force of evil and look what it does-- steals, confuses, paralyzes...fear not. It's the most repeated command in the Bible. I need that!
Anyway, thought you could relate since this post sounds a lot like me! :)
Hello! :)
ReplyDeleteSnow fell with me, and how are you?
I contemplate and think a lot but I try not to worry about the future too much. All we really have is right here, right now. Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you . We have a friend who says 2015 will be doom and gloom...
ReplyDeletebut God conquered all of that ...
He is in charge ...Yah!!
Happy New Year...and congratulations too!!:))
I feel positive about 2015. I know there will be turmoil and upheaval and many changes, welcome and unwelcome. I try not to worry, and deal with each thing as it comes. I usually prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Wishing you a happy new year!
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: your friend says great truth. God's boss. I do not worry about the future. I do not make plans. Since my father died suddenly of a tragic illness I only live in the present. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteI try not to worry but sometimes it is stronger then me. Prayer helps me.
ReplyDeleteI come from a family of worriers but I try to think as positive as I can. Only God knows what lies in the future so just enjoy today and think of all the things you are thankful for!
ReplyDeleteAmen, my friend! Thanks for sharing these sweet and encouraging thoughts. Everything is in God's hands and I will rely on Him and His wisdom :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you! Hugs!
Thank you for this very special reminder, Susan.

Oh Susan I do and I sure wish I didn't - I need to let things go more often for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely the optimistic one about the new year! I think I need just a little of your faith though because I do worry a lot…it's just how my brain works but not a good thing.
