From Hearts to Bun Buns
Little by little, Valentine's Day decor is coming down and Easter touches are taking their place.
As many of you know, around here there are boxes and plastic bins of decorations up in the attic for every holiday .
It's not an easy climb to those chilly innards of the third floor attic since there are two flights of stairs to go up to get there.
However, it's a blessing to not have to lower a ladder from the ceiling as some attics are designed.
On the front door, a grapevine wreath with purple and lavender flowers takes the place of the heart-shaped, rose-covered Day of Love wreath.
The kitchen wooden knick knack rack has more than 40 cubbies and it was fun filling them with all kinds of Easter doodads.
Not a single space is left! (Compulsive collector? Who said that? Who? hee hee)
The little fellow to the left is actually a music box that plays "Easter Parade"----you know, the song that starts out "In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it..."
This exchange of decor takes quite a few days but who cares?
There is no rush.
The Easter parade is quite a few weeks away.
DO YOU DECORATE FOR EASTER?
... Hello Susan... You have so much energy for decorating your home.....I love your little boxed compartments that you put your seasonal decorations in.... we don't decorate for Easter...

I love decorating for Easter. I have already made two lavender Bunnies. I think it makes your home so cosy. Love your decorations.
ReplyDeleteRosezeeta.
You work so hard at that and it looks so pretty - I know your granddaughter has to love it.
ReplyDeleteNo decorations up here - we just put as much stuff away as we can - as the Realtor is coming to take pictures so we can put the house up for sale! In the snow.
Not too many things here. I usually put out stuff just about a week before Easter and then put the baskets and decorated eggs and bunny back in the closet a week after Easter. Wish I had a wreath for my front door though.
ReplyDeleteI do decorate for Easter. I love Spring and it's such a perfect time to bring out bunnies and eggs!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Still have all my Valentine decorations up. We are going to Sanibel Island, Florida for 10 days and when we return daylight savings time will have started, lots of birds will have returned and Spring (by the calendar anwyay)will be starting. That's when I will start my Spring cleaning and Spring/Easter decorating. Looking forward to that as much as the trip!
ReplyDeleteWHen I was a child I loved to hear that song. I would get so excited for Easter. I love all of your sweet decorations. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteNo not really but I do eat lots of easter eggs.

I will be watching for all your cute Easter and Spring decor. :)
ReplyDeleteI think how much work but I think how many memories you will leave for your grand kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI do love your Easter decorations. I have a few but the colored eggs, the Easter basket and the flowers were my primary decorations.
ReplyDeleteI love to see your holiday decorating and look forward to each change you make. So fun!
ReplyDeleteYou are so like me! Only I change over my living room decor each month. I have so many collections, that I like to give each item their place of honor. So starting tomorrow, all my "green" items come out. :) Enjoy! Kit
