Bless All Who Enter
The rug shown in today's post was given to me by a very special lady.
She was actually a friend of my hubs.
When I met her, she was in one of life's terrible transitions.
Her husband was ill and one of her daughters was in charge of living arrangements.
Our friend gave away a lot of her possessions including the rug shown in this post.
The daughter moved her mother and the father into a nursing home out-of-state.
The only time we were able to visit there, our friend wanted to go out with us to a storage unit to get some of her things.
The nursing home personnel wouldn't let her come with us.
It was very tragic and I left, at the end of the day, feeling deeply sad.
We heard from her one more time. She called to say her husband had died.
Apparently, there was another move after that because she left the facility we visited.
I think of her every time I look at the rug and hope she is in the loving arms of our Lord at last.
I hope you have a really terrific Sunday!
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR TODAY?

A wonderful pancake breakfast at church and then a lovely choral concert at another place this afternoon with friends..gorgeous day here today. Have a wonderful Sunday yourself Susan.
How sad that the nursing home did not let her take a short ride with you. And that she could not have a few of her favorite things to surround her there. I hope she is finally at peace, in a better place.
A sad situation indeed. It's so hard to except things and situations that are out of our control. I wish peace for your friend.
A truly beautiful June day here; sunshine and blue skies with a soft breeze whispering through the green, green trees. As I look out the window the leaves of the birch tree almost look as if they are shimmering in the light.
Time for a little rest as both of our sons, daughter in law and grandaughter have been here visiting since Friday. All is quiet now. We had a wonderful weekend(celebrating our oldest son's 37th birthday) but hubs and I are pooped!
Hope you got outside to enjoy this beautiful weather.
What a sad story about your friend, and how they wouldn't let her go to the storage unit with you. I bet there are legal issues in who can take her from the facility. That is a nice rug to remember her by.
Whew what a bittersweet story - I am glad you have the rug to remember her - sorry that her life was so sad. Kids....
Hello! I am planting some of my flowers for the season. :) So sad about your friend. I am glad you ended up with the mat. She would like that. :) Kit
I am so sorry about your friend. It is so hard to get old. I do love that rug. It is amazing. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
