Make Do with What You've Got...

Picture healthy herbs, growing strong in the sun, in makeshift containers, the bottoms of which are fashioned from spray-painted cat litter containers.

When our kitty was still living, she went through a lot of cat litter.

Hubs, being the thrifty person he is, never threw away the empty yellow containers, with plastic handles.

He accumulated a large number of them and I thought he was slightly nuts.

Until........he made a couple of herb containers that really rock and they are not even in our  yard!

He made them for our brother-in-law's house.

He  turned  some of those  kitty litter containers over, spray painted them, and mounted big tubs on top of them.

Honestly, they look so nice and the herbs are green, healthy, strong and growing.

Now I want one.

DO YOU GROW HERBS?

He had this plan all along and didn't make one for you? You have to have him make one - you would love it - I know it.

I have kept quite a few empty cat litter containers and also spray painted them and transformed them into poultry nest boxes. I never thought to use them this way. Genius !

Great idea! I've grown herbs in the past, but this year I'm sticking to flowers.
