Hello Dear Blog Peeps:
It's pouring rain as this is written. We've had a lot of rain so far this summer.
Sometimes I wish some could be sent to California and other places experiencing drought.
A few weeks ago, while supermarket shopping, lilies were for sale outside. A sign stated they were $8.00 each so two of them ended up in the cart.
On the sides of the lilies are stickers that read "Sunny Grenada."
Every day while passing them on my way to the front door, I'd whisper, "Hi girls. Hope you are doing well" or "Hi girly girls. You look pretty already." Naturally, I always hoped they would bloom.
Lo and behold, the buds starting getting puffier. Finally, two days ago, some of the blossoms bloomed!
Oh, the glorious fragrance coming from those two humble plants wafts through the air, filling the entire small front porch with loveliness.
"Thank you, sweet lilies."
The best part is there are many more blooms to come.
Alas, yesterday at the super, stargazer lilies (my absolute fave) were for sale out front.
Haven't bought one yet ($14.95) but I might take some of the grocery money, go back and get one!
It counts to buy food for the soul, doesn't it?
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LILY?

I don't know if these are the same but here we call them Calia lilies and they look just like those that you have and smell really great. I would love some of that rain you are having....
I have to be honest don't know much about lilies - but I do like what you have on the side of your house - and yes - you need to feed the soul too!
Very very pretty! My favorite lilies are the basic Daylily. I have two plants in my gardens and my neighbor has a whole bed of them. They just make me smile! :) Enjoy! Kit
The Stargazer lily is one of my favorites also. Their fragrance is unmistakable. I do have a yellow Stella D'Oro lily that grows right by the deck. Early in the morning or in the evening it gives off a sweet, lemony fragrance which I enjoy so much. Really smells like summer when they are in bloom.
Looks like your lilies love where they are. They seem to be thriving. What a nice welcome for your guests....
They really are pretty, and rewarding you so well.
Those are beautiful flowers. When stores have flowers like that, it's almost like having a puppy there saying "Take me home please." :)

I have yellow day lilies in the front of my house, but there is one lily that looks just like the one you have on here. It's very unique, so I have kept it. They were there when we moved into our home. I was going to change them out to something different, because honestly not my favorite flower, but they are starting to grow on me - they are such sturdy flowers, and now I think they are pretty.
Have a terrific week, Susan.
