Sunrise, Sunset

Do you remember the song, "Sunrise, Sunset" from the musical "Fiddler on the Roof"?

It's such a great, heartfelt song.

The start and finish of each day of life are also precious.

The other night, the sinking sun bolted through the trees like a golden sword.

A few minute later, I pulled the car over to the side of the road to get a better look at the splendorous sunset.

It didn't disappoint.

God's handiwork is always miraculous.

WHAT COMES INTO YOUR MIND WHEN YOU SEE A GLORIOUS SUNSET?

I'm a sunset/sunrise kind of gal. Always magnificent reminders of God's greatness.

Yes, there is something about the sunrise and sunset that brings a sense of gratitude. If we can take the time to stop for a few minutes and reflect on all that is good, that is a great accomplishment, I think.

There is a summer camp across the lake from our house and every evening at sunset they play Taps. I never tire of hearing the strains of that poignant melody float across the water as the sky lights up.
Whenever I hear it I try to stop and be still and reflect on the day and to say a prayer of thanksgiving.
