Labor Day

Today is Labor Day in the USA.

It's really not a holiday that's highly celebrated, except for having day free from work and sales in retail stores.

It also kind of signals the end of sweet summer and the beginning of a new school year.

When one thinks about why we have it, it becomes very meaningful.

So many people fought hard to improve conditions for workers and to help them have more rights.

Things have improved dramatically over the years but, as always, more improvement continues to be needed.

Here, hubs put  out  the American flag and we have two children's birthday parties to attend.

In my heart, I'm thankful to all who fought for workers' rights.

  10. My husband & I were just discussing Labor Day . I don't think many know or remember why we celebrate it, and a lot of people lost their lives to gain fair work and labor laws. Well said, thank-you.
