The Power of Optimism

This is going to be a great week.

For most working people in the USA, it'll be a short one, too!

Monday was  Labor  Day and a holiday.

Over the years, after much practice,  I have learned to determine,
early in the morning, that it's going to be a good day .

You know what?  Most days really do end up being pretty good.

Of course, there are still disappointments and challenges but they
are part of life.

A positive attitude, however, helps one get over them quickly and
just appreciate being alive.

HOW DO YOU STAY OPTIMISTIC?  TELL US.

  1. Anyone who is free, has a roof over their head, food on their tables and a comfortable bed to retire to at night is blessed beyond measure. I've been listening to Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer affirmations lately. :) Have a good week.

P.S. you need to put an "r" on the powe :)

  2. I totally agree with you - I think thinking positive is imperative to being positive. Happy. I try to do that, but it doesn't always work - but I will say being grateful and looking for things you are grateful for makes you positive.

  3. Good Morning Susan, Each new day brings with it a clean slate and endless possibilities. My Dad was a singer and a whistler and everywhere he went music was there with him. He worked as a contractor . . . whistler while you work, right :) Well, that is what I inherited from my Dad, and I sing and whistle everywhere I go. I usually don't know that I'm doing it, until someone says something, or starts singing along with me. I've even had people join in, in the grocery store :) It's hard to be anything but optimistic when you have a song in your heart :) Of all the things that I could inherit, this is the best and I would not change a thing . . . wait a minute, I inherited arthritis from my Mom, I might change that, LOL.

  6. Gratitude certainly is a key to staying positive, altho it is part of being human to want more, have more, be more, do more, etc. etc.

I think the saying "the best things in life are free" is something I try to keep in mind every day. Of course, the hard questions we all have about life and it's purpose are always roaming around in our thoughts. Accepting that we all have these thoughts and that it is ok goes a long way towards vanquishing the negative and keeping positive.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

  9. Great post. I have the gene I guess. People always comment on my enthusiasm for life. Thing is, I have Depression. :) I live with it and I am grateful for my doctors and my medications! my father worked for W Clement Stone and Napolean HIll , who are the POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE, PMA, men of the 50s and 60s. We were not permitted to Say Cant. It was a fake way to grow up, because life has its bad days, but my father would not stand for any negativity. He meant well.
I do spin the positive whenever I can. I prefer to live my life in a happy light!
