Little Sweetheart

Did a recreational run into a Goodwill Store this week.

I consider this a treat after working hard.

At the checkout, the little sweetheart shown in today's post stood on a shelf behind the cashier.

"Could I see that doll?"  I asked.

The price was $4.50 on a red tag. Red tag that day meant half off.

The little dolly with the adorable face and a totally darling outfit was in a box that stated Birthstones and Blossoms.

It was made for Small World Toys in Hong Kong in 1982!

She is one of 12 dolls of her kind, sporting the month's birthstone.

The little sweetheart represents January and wears a garnet on a heart necklace.

She even has cute little white shoes!

I had her in mind for my eBay site but then decided I'd keep her instead ha!

Ahhhhh, the little things of life, like a  doll that costs just $2.25, that can make us smile are the best.

DO YOU LIKE DOLLS?

  1. Used to love dolls; not so much now, altho I do have a couple of cute ones that my granddaughter likes to play with. She does have one special one, named baby Rose, that she brings from home and that is her most special/favorite one.

  2. My youngest granddaughter does, but our oldest never did. I'm still fascinated by miniatures and continue to design dies to create scenes. Love your holiday doll, XOXO

  3. Never played much with dolls and neither did my daughter although she had a few Barbies. My grandchildren are all boys and so no dolls but lots of stuffed animals in my house and theirs.

  8. I love dolls! This one reminds me of the Ginny dolls I played with as a child. Later in life, I picked up several of them. They're displayed in my mother's china cabinet.
