One Way to Have a Better Life----Develop Gratitude

(This sweet Raggedy Ann was for sale in the gift shop at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA)

It's so exciting to start a new year of life.

Just look at your 2016 calendar!

All of those days ahead are just for you and waiting for you to live life to the fullest.

In my own life, one of the greatest discoveries made throughout the decades was developing and honing an attitude of gratitude.

I tell you, there is nothing more enlightening and uplifting than giving thanks to Almighty God for the immense amount of blessings he literally pours on His children.

It's soooo true that when we are thanking, we are not complaining.

We are not talking badly about others.

We are not wishing others would disappear from our lives or honing resentment and hatred in our hearts.

When we are thanking, we are lighting up our own lives.
That is a gift in itself.

Even if something bad happens in life, it's worth it to still thank God for it because, in the final analysis, He's in charge, one way or the other.

Please don't misunderstand and think this message is preachy. It's just that I love sharing things that have the possibility of making life so much better!

HAVE YOU EVER WORKED ON DEVELOPING GRATITUDE?

Hi Susan - yes we need to remember to be grateful - there's always a lesson to be learnt even from adversity ... but most of us we are just very fortunate and need to remember it - have a good 2016 .. cheers Hilary

I work on gratitude too - I think it is really important. I love those smiling faces there of Ann and Andy - and I am grateful for the memories they bring up!

To live with an attitude of gratitude is a beautiful thing, not always easy, but it is the best way to get through the rough patches.

I thank the Good Lord every morning and evening for His many blessings in my life.

I think it is little easier to be grateful as one gets older. You realize that life is full of challenges and that one has to be grateful for all the good things in life. Still working on it.....

Absolutely! Having a heart of gratitude and writing down three gratitudes daily is a habit I learned long ago. I even published a journal called 30 days of Thankfulness, Successes, and Joy this past year. I published it for friends but ended up selling 80! Very thankful for that.

This is a very nice post, Susan, and a gentle reminder to us all. I love the Raggedy Ann doll. Nel still has hers from when she was a little girl.

Have a good week, lovely lady.
