A Mother's Sorrow: GOOD FRIDAY
(Photos in this post were taken inside St. Charles Church in western Massachusetts.)
There can be no greater pain in a mother's heart than to see her child suffer and die.
Imagine, just imagine, the agony of the Blessed Mother when she saw her son crucified and die upon a cross.
A mother's love is forever.
When she is gone, no one will ever take her place.
If your own mother is still alive, cherish her.
She is your greatest ally and staunchest advocate and friend.
She is perhaps the greatest gift God has ever given to you and to your children.
Treat her with the most tender love you can muster and hold her close to you.
She is more precious than all the gold in the world.
And when your mother is no longer on earth, your heart, like Mary's, will break.
Today. Remember Him and remember His mother as well as your own.

Thanks for the mother reminder. There has been so much sorrow in so many places this week I find I don't want to dwell on the sorrow of the Passion. Beautiful post!
I love the statue from St. Charles church. When I was at the Vatican in Rome I saw Michelangelos' Pieta and it was magnificent. It brought feelings of pain to me when I looked at it. I imagined our Blessed Mother and how awful it was for her to bury her son and to watch him suffer so. Today will be a solemn day ...but all will be well in a short time.
I can't even imagine the pain and suffering that went on for everyone. You are so right. Have a blessed Easter Susan.
Have a blessed Easter.
