Easter Sunday, 2016, is now a sweet memory.
Oh, it was truly a glorious holiday.
There were beautiful church services, family members, a dear friend, precious new born babies, decorations, luscious food offerings, and on and on.
In addition to fattening fare, such as pecan and apple pies, (made by one of my sisters), and my infamous cheese braid, there were nutritious things, too.
Hummus (a Mediterranean chick pea concoction) came with carrots and celery sticks.
Ginger chicken wings are a tradition in our house.
No holiday around here is ever complete without them.
This year, for the large tossed salad, I made Rachel Ray's lemon dressing plus an Olive Garden copy cat recipe for the dressings.
Both got rave reviews.
Spiral ham took center stage, of course, in addition to Polish kielbasa with beet horseradish, an artichoke/roasted red pepper/ potato and olive salad; fresh rolls, and my daughter's delicious sweet potato casserole.
M&M Easter candies were a must, too.
Thank the risen Lord for the abundance.
Tonight I went swimming for an hour and a half to try to get rid of some of the guilt. ha!
Hope you have a great week after Easter!
Bye bye, Easter, 2016!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EASTER DISH?

Ah, I wish I could have been at your house!!! Ham means Easter!!!
Glad you had a wonderful Easter. I love the bunny. Okay I have to ask you this - did you make that hummus and if so - send me the recipe please!!! I am addicted to hummus and that looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
I love hard boiled eggs on Easter and whatever I gave up for lent...usually potato chips..I also like rack of Lamb for dinner as I'm not a fan of ham which I think is very salty. I love pie though especially apple.
Looks like your Easter feast was the perfect compliment to family fun.
Looks and sounds like you had a fabulous holiday weekend. Best wishes for the new week. Hard to believe April is just around the corner.
Hello from Spain: the table is very elegant. All food is very appetizing. Nice photos. I am very greedy. I love eating chocolate eggs. You make good in swimming to prevent weight gain. I have to follow your example. Keep in touch
We had barbecue chicken and burgers with all the fixings. It was fun here too.
I made salmon on cedar plank for my hubby, but the best was a coconut cake I made with a raspberry jam filling and vanilla icing.
Easter is such a sentimental day for me, such fond memories with family.
That food looks great and made me hungry. I need a swim. :)
Oh, those ginger chicken wings look amazing, Susan. Look at all this Yummy food! I love all the red touches on your table setting. I sure do miss my swimming pool. You are lucky to be able to take a swim now and then. :)
