The old expression "Champagne taste with beer pocketbook" fits me to a "t."
Take garden sculptures.
I love the white statues found in many places such as Greece and Italy.
The kind I mean are life-sized, gorgeous women who look like royal princesses or virile men gazing into space.
Ha! Have you ever seen the prices of those kinds of statues?
They are in the thousands of dollars.
Alas, our little backyard has sweet angel statuary.
While not elegant, the primarily cherubim sculptures are sweet and add a celestial touch to our yard.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE GARDEN ACCESSORY?

Susan, I enjoyed looking at all your garden statues. They are wonderful. The one that caught my eye the most was the lady with the red flowers sitting next to it. There's just something about a white statue next to red flowers. Thanks for sharing them, what a great idea for a post. :)
love, ~Sheri
Yours ARE charming! I like garden sculpture, too.....but just can't part with the money for even some of the more modest ones. I have picked up a few at garage sales & found a St. Francis (about 24") at an end of season clearance.
Your angels are darling; my favorite in our garden is a 2 foot tall graceful statue of Mary. I will post a photo of her soon; my previous post (if you scroll down) is of a sun sculpture and a jasmine growing on it.
Beautiful. They look perfectly serene nestled among the greenery.
So happy you are enjoying some things from your weekly jaunt to thrift stores Susan. They are just the thing to make you smile when you go outside.
That last little angel does it for me! have a great weekend.
Some of these are so striking! It is a true art to be able to make them so lifelike. Haha...that one, though, looks like she wa surprised and is bashfully fighting with her towel. ;-)
A watering can. Wish there was a watering fairy!
Mama loved statues, she has a lady that sits on her porchand theres a dog statue in the garden. There are a couple of places in San Francisco that have those expensive ones....Happy weekend dear Susan, with love Janice
