Tasty Little Tidbits

Last summer, a $12 cherry tomato plant turned out to be a terrific purchase.

It paid for itself a hundredfold.

It grew in a pot on the back porch.

When the small green tomatoes first appeared, it was a call for celebration.

They ripened, turned into red nuggets and created bursts of sweetness in one's mouth.

Visits from kids were particularly enjoyable.

They couldn't wait to go out onto the back porch to pick and eat the mini cherry tomatoes!

While I didn't count them, that little plant produced dozens upon dozens of tomatoes, right into fall.

So this year, a few pots sit on the back porch with cherry tomato plants growing in them.

Already we have had several yummy mini tomatoes and there are signs of many more to come.

HAVE YOU EVER GROWN CHERRY OR ANY OTHER KIND OF  TOMATOES?

Cherry tomatoes are always my tomato of choice. I seldom if ever use a regular sized one in cooking or for eating. Hope you get lots of them on the vine to enjoy too.

I had three tomato plants that grew so big and produced nicely this past winter. Will be end of year before I can think of planting again. But I'm gonna try my hand at growing even more than ever making use of the L-shaped balcony we have off our bedroom.

Your cherry tomatoes turned out to be a great vegetable to plant. The kids seem to love them. My dad used to have a garden across the street from his house, and he used to come home with the most delicious ripe tomatoes. Is there anything better than home grown tomatoes?

That is cool - so you just wrapped wire around it - you make it look easy! Love little tomatoes.
