Hello Dear Blog Peeps...
Don't you just love re-purposing something?
Those are the kinds of items that make my heart go pitter patter just a little bit faster.
Well, wouldn't you know it, at a thrift store, I spotted a very beautiful, old-fashioned
cheese cover----the kind they'd use in Victorian times.
Couldn't you just close your eyes and see it on an exquisitely festooned dining room
table, complete with crystal glasses, fine china, gleaming silverware and a lace tablecloth?
So I bought it, placed it on top of a pretty crystal dish and use it as a re-purposed butter dish and cover.
Since the width of the cover is not as wide as a stick of butter, I cut one in half and put the two pieces on top of each other. There is plenty of room.
Soooooo pretty. So next time you see something beautiful that you love but have no idea what to do with, re-purpose it!
DO YOU LIKE TO THINK OF HOW TO USE OBJECTS DIFFERENTLY FROM WHAT THEY WERE INTENDED?

You know what caught my attention in your post was thinking back to the olden days and how it might look on the table that was all decorated. It would be nice to visit those times for a day - right?
I know you love crystal...so this item must be a favorite of yours.
This is so beautiful ♥

I often do.

I've often thought, "I really need something to cover this cheese."
Just kidding! I am not that fancy. My cheese goes in a ziploc bag in the fridge. It is very envious of your cheese.
i HAVE A BLUE WILLOW CHEESE SET i USE FOR BUTTER TOO. a FAVORITE.
I love the look of cut glass.
Your new butter/cheese cut glass cover is so sparkly, I like it.
Such a pretty find. I too like the Victorian decor but don't actually decorate in that style. If I had a large, old house, I probably would though. Nice you got to find a good purpose for the cheese bowl.
.. I love your re-purposed cheese cover Susan.... I love finding new uses for some of the things I have..... Barb xxxx
