Remember the post here, on Writing Straight from the Heart, about the Hammond Castle in Gloucester, Massachusetts?
(If you missed it, and are interested, you can see it here. )
Come along today to see some of the inside of the castle.
Statuary is always intriguing as are four poster canopied beds.
There was so much to look at during the self-propelled tour.
Honestly, a guide to explain everything would have been a nice plus.
I am a stickler for details and had a zillion questions rolling around in my head about various objects that we saw.
A leaf of some sort could be spotted covering something on the statue below:
Even a book on the castle and all of its contents would have been a super addition to the gift shop.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictorial tour!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE INSIDE A CASTLE? IF YES, WHY?

Interesting castle here girl. No, no castle for me. It is just not me. I wonder if that is an above ground crypt there? I agree a tour guide of book would be a nice addition, but still interesting. sandie
Is that a gargoyle? Modern architecture is so lacking in gargoyles.
How lovely and wonderful! I just loved that tapestry! I don't think I would like living in a castle. It would seem so chilly with all that stone. :) Kit
Never would want to live in a castle and never would want to be royalty of any kind. Great pictures Susan.
I am so happy to have been able to tour this castle, as it was closed when I was there. Thanks for posting.

Oh my, what a grand castle! Thanks for sharing with us, Susan. I feel like I was inside walking right along with the tour. : )
