Music, Pageantry and Patriotism Make Parade Shine
Parades go straight to the heart.
When the colorful bands and and other musical groups come marching down the main street, they make hearts pump faster.
When the trumpets, trombones and other instruments begin to play, sunlight bouncing from their shiny brass surfaces, they illicit tears from my eyes.
They are happy tears, of course, and never fail to make me thrilled to witness the splendor.
This year's July 4th parade in western Massachusetts, like all the years in the past, was joyful and festive.
In this photo-heavy post, you will get an idea of how wonderful it felt to live in a free country as well as a yearning to help keep it that way, at all costs.
Enjoy!

We have the Rose Parade in Pasadena although I have never been in person, I do like to watch it on TV. I've marched in many parades...and so have both my children when they were in the marching band in high school. I guess the music groups are the best for me.
