The air was cold but clear.
Like embers left on the floor inside the fireplace, day was coming to a close.
Standing in my niece's driveway, I paused before going into the house.
The night sky was darkening.
A crescent moon peeked from behind the bare branches of a tree.
The Christmas season, 2017, was coming to an end.
Standing there, looking at the intense beauty of a winter's sunset, and listening to the surrounding silence, the feeling most prevalent in my heart was gratitude.
I felt so privileged to be alive on this planet, earth.
Despite all the wretchedness of the political world, of loved ones suffering, and so on, it still felt so good to be alive.
Immense gratitude filled my heart to overflowing as I stood there in the coming darkness.
Sometimes, it's just good to stop and "be."

Oh, yes, I am blessed. It is so comforting to remember things, days gone by and also the blessings of here and now. Amazing life.
