Kids and Plants Grow Taller By The Day

Everyone would probably agree that kids and plants grow taller by the day.

One day they are little sprouts and "voila!," the next day (or so it seems), they are taller than a coconut tree. (Well, sort of.)

(Paint brush is in photo in error. It was put there so it wouldn't get lost on the kitchen counter.)

For instance, my small five-year-old visitor is definitely growing taller.

SO is the avocado plant she grew from a pit.

It took a long time to crack and sprout green.

However, the waiting paid off.

Each week, new tiny buds appear and the plant grows taller and taller.

DO YOU THINK TINY HEARTFELT KISSES THE PLANT RECEIVED FROM A FIVE-YEAR-OLD HELPED IT GROW?

I think definitely plants grow from love! People used to say you should talk to them.

Will that plant actually produce avocados?

I don't know about the kisses but my neighbor talks to her grapefruit tree and it always is FULL of delicious grapefruits that she shares with me. I have one just about every morning...yummy.
