Glass Treasures

Our prayers and thoughts go out to all those in the path of the terrible hurricane in the south. May God protect them and their families.

Now for today's post:

Objects made of glass are like train whistles in the night.

They call out and command attention.

Whenever someone has asked why we don't use paper plates all that much, it's hard to answer them since they may not have heard of a love affair with glass.

However, it's true that seeing something made out of glass or crystal, appeals to my sense of beauty.

At a church yard sale last weekend, I saw some small glass plates that were absolutely lovely.

Immediately, the silent dialogue began in my head about how I could use them for desserts or as holders for fat candles at Christmas time.

Will I give them up and gift them to others?  Well, it's possible but not likely.

Also found were some juice glasses with gold stripes.

Now how could six darling glasses for a buck be left behind?

DO YOU LIKE THINGS MADE OUT OF GLASS OR CRYSTAL?

Yes, I do like glass and crystal table ware and vases. The plate you show is gorgeous. Remind people that paper plates are wasteful, so you have beauty and are kind to the environment when you use your glass plates.

I don't have too many glass objects of any kind as I live in earthquake country...Southern California. I'll enjoy your glass plates when I come to see you .

My collecting could really get out of hand with glassware. The colors alone are like a magnet. My favorite? Fenton glass.
