The Sound of Silence
Silence is good for the soul.
We are often bombarded with noise.
Whether it's ambulance or police car sirens, neighbors yelling, angry drivers honking car horns, or the incessant rants of televised news anchors telling us the latest bad things happening in the world, noise is with us.
Sometimes, it's just good to shut off the television, put the computer to sleep, silence the cell phone and stop.
Stop for whatever time you have, whether it's a moment, an hour, or a whole day, and be still.
It's so healing and peaceful to listen to the silence.
While photographing a pretty red vase filled with star gazer lilies, the house was quiet.
Sun was pouring through the windows panes of the back door.
Those peaceful moments, in the silence, filled my heart to the brim.
Today, may you have the opportunity to listen to the silence.
DO YOU SOMETIMES YEARN FOR SILENCE?

Fantastic! The vase is beautiful.
I have silence in my house all the time. I do not like music playing even. I do not like the tv on. I don't turn on my iPhone or my computer. So yes I have silence a lot. Living alone I have no one or anything to distract me.
Those photos are Gorgeous! The sounds are silence are beautiful!
I don;t read much indoors when there is so much noise. I could do without TV most of the time. Not so much my honey, though. Have a great week.
Oh yes, silence is golden in my books. My soul gets jittery when it's been bombarded too long by clanging and banging and disjointed noise.
Your red vase seems a perfect match to your post about silence. I feel myself resting on it a moment.
Wishing you a beautiful day, Susan.

Susan, that is one of the prettiest vases I've seen. You can put that out for Valentine's Day too. You know, I do yearn for silence sometimes, so I could really relate to your post today. It gives us time to reflect and pray and just dream about things. It's so noisy out there in the world, and we are sometimes bombarded with it, like you said. I'm glad to know you appreciate the silence too. What a lovely post this is. Have a very nice week, Susan.
love, ~Sheri
